“The Truth of our Knowledge: Plato vs. Aristotle”
Dr. Fulvio Di Blasi, Director of the Thomas International Center
343 E Six Forks Road, Suite 130, Raleigh, NC 27609
In preparation for making our first video courses available online in January, Fulvio Di Blasi will lead a series of seven lectures for our supporters spanning central philosophical topics. This lecture, the fourth in the series, is entitled, “The Truth of our Knowledge: Plato vs. Aristotle.”
Knowledge is a crucial feature of our entire existence. From birth on, in a sense, all we do is to learn new things and work on our education. But what is knowledge? And what is the truth of the concepts or ideas that we have in our minds, even the most abstract and difficult ones, like ‘person,’ ‘intellect,’ ‘freedom,’ ‘chaos,’ ‘energy,’ etc.? This lecture addresses this question by focusing mostly on the opposite solutions offered to the question of knowledge by Plato and Aristotle.
DR. FULVIO DI BLASI IS AN INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED SCHOLAR IN THE FIELD OF MORAL PHILOSOPHY, NATURAL LAW THEORY, AND THOMISTIC PHILOSOPHY. HE IS FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT OF THE THOMAS INTERNATIONAL PROJECT, PRESIDENT OF THE THOMAS INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION IN ITALY, AND DIRECTOR OF THE THOMAS INTERNATIONAL CENTER IN RALEIGH, NC.
